Still Hot in the Garden

We finally got a break on Sunday -- the high was only 88. The garden is looking much better since we started watering although on Saturday we got plenty of thunder and lightening but no rain. If we are lucky we might get some rain tonight or tomorrow. Probably scattered showers but that is better than nothing. We've been trying to get all our new plants in the garden and some maintenance taken care of.

got a fresh coat of paint on the patio chairs
love that rustoleum paint - it covers everything

queens anne lace making a good showing
part of the garden to avoid for now as
chiggers love us something fierce

got the windmill painted
need to find new parts for it

Uncle Billy's garlic

new water wiggler for the birdbaths
looks so neat & runs on 2 D batteries

got the foxgloves planted
also planted foxglove seeds
back side of little pond area

solar fountain in little pond
works great with full sunshine
shoots little bursts with shade
my little goldfish sure loves it

pacific coast iris all planted
in corner by little pond
hopefully easier to keep alive here

umbrellas for 2 of the tree peonies
they were wilting under the 90+ degree sun

butterfly weeds and yellow daylilies
blooming better than ever

  1. You have been busy with the new plantings and those fix it up projects. Love the little water wiggler. How long do the batteries last? I think my next water fountain will be solar too. Then, I can move the water containter off the patio and buy more sun loving water plants. I'd never considered umbrellas for my plants. They look good too.

  2. Ooooh, everything looks so nice, Sandy! I just love sitting in the garden in the evening. Our evenings are usually pretty cool - even on hot days so I'm out there a lot.
