Planting for Spring

This past weekend was another perfect one weather wise, in the high 60s Saturday and low 70s on Sunday. The weekend before was very cold and before that gorgeous.  I skipped working in the garden on the cold weekend but did finish my planting of bulbs in pots Saturday.  Every pot that had annuals over the summer now has bulbs for this spring.

50 mixed dutch iris

108 radiant perfection tulips

24 angelique tulips

24 margarita tulips

and 36 pink hyacinths

I can't wait for spring to get here and see all our beautiful blooms.  All my bulbs came from Walmart this year as they were marking them down on clearance faster than Lowe's and Home Depot.

I am taking a break and will be back the first of the year.  I hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year.  See you in 2013.

We've gotten so much done in the garden this year and it is starting to look like a flower garden once again instead of a weed patch with flowers.  We managed to get 2 new pathways created and rocked, about 1/2 the garden is mulched so we will still have plenty to do next year.  We are ready for winter to arrive and leave so spring will be here once again.

Happy Thanksgiving
from our family to yours
