Cactus Monday

I am joining Teri for Cactus Monday

This is a close up of my birdbath planter. My hens and chicks actually survived winter I was happy to see and I added more along with the cactus. It is supposed to have a bright yellow bloom on it.

My prickly pear cactus are starting to grow. I just planted these this spring and they are finally showing signs of life. I can't wait for them to grow and fill up my pot. They are planted in an aluminum light fixture bowl I turned upside down in my big pot. After seeing Cindees' broken glass in her bbq and how good it made her cactus look I'm going to have to find some for mine.

  1. HCM to you and thank you for stopping by my blog today! I love seeing cactus(-: Yours are very nice. The pear cactus seems to grow well for me. I don't do anything to mine. I am going to carve a few stars into it though. I think that would be cool as it grows!

  2. Welcome to Cactus Monday Sandy. So happy to have you join us.

Your cactus and planter are so neat. I have prickly pear growing in Wisconsin so yours should do well. I was just looking at Cindee's comment about carving a star, I have to try that also.

    Happy Cactus Monday!

  3. Your cactus collection in the bird bath is an inspiration. I have one that needs to be utilized for something other than a bird bath since it sits out front and won't hold water. I have ignored it for a few years. Maybe I will try this. HCM.

  5. Hi Sandy, I love your little cacti growing in unusual planters. I live in Arizona where cactus grows all over the place. I just recently started growing cactus in my garden. Happy Cactus Monday :)
